Egypt launches its first integrated industrial investment map, Minister of Trade

The Ministry of Trade and Industry announced the launch of an industrial investment map, covering all investment opportunities available in 8 industrial sectors in various governorates of Egypt.

Minister of Trade and Industry Tariq Qabil said at a press conference held yesterday to launch the map, in the presence of Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram, that it was determined based on the competitive advantages and investment elements of each governorate and includes 1265 ones in the engineering sector, 861 in the chemical sectors, 649 in the food industry, 605 in the textile industry, 395 in the mining industry, 183 in the pharmaceutical industry, 122 in the metal industry and 56 ones in leather industries.

Asked by Al-Mal newspaper about the total value of the investments targeted to be attracted to the industrial map projects and the timeframe for their implementation, Qabil said it was difficult to predict how much investment would be generated or attracted by the industrial investment map.

He continued:”We have new projects joining the industrial sector. ”

The Minister explained :” There is no time period for the map, and we are helping the private sector and provide opportunities for him. The map is a guiding and interactive platform for investors, which makes it easier for them to have a suitable investment opportunity.”
